Setting Direction and Gaining Alignment

This half- to full-day workshop (depending on workshop design and client needs) will confirm the importance of clear purpose and direction in achieving high levels of organizational performance. Participants will learn why such clarity is difficult to achieve and how they, as leaders, can overcome these barriers. Clear direction is necessary, but not sufficient; followers must also be committed to and aligned with this direction. Workshop participants will learn the principles of crafting a compelling message that engenders alignment to direction.

In this workshop participants will:

  • Reinforce the importance of directional clarity on individual motivation and organizational performance
  • Identify the barriers to achieving needed levels of clarity and how to overcome them
  • Learn the attributes of a clear direction and purpose that engenders the commitment of followers
  • Recognize the principles and process for getting followers aligned with the leader’s direction
